Accessibility statement

Last updated

allreposhere.com aims to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification or other assistive technology.

Standard and status

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA as our reference. The site partially conforms to it, which means some parts may not meet every criterion. The site has not been assessed by an independent tester.

Features in place

  • A “Skip to content” link appears when you first press Tab.
  • Links, buttons and form fields show a visible outline when they have keyboard focus.
  • Menus, search, filters, favourites and links can be used with a keyboard.
  • Favourite buttons report whether a repository is saved, so screen readers can announce the state.
  • If your device is set to reduce motion, animations, transitions and smooth scrolling are turned off.
  • Pages use headings, landmarks and labelled form fields.

Known limitations

  • Live numbers, such as star counts, load after the page and may not be announced by screen readers when they change.
  • Some filter combinations produce long result lists that take time to move through with a screen reader.
  • The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block bots. If it shows a challenge, that challenge comes from Cloudflare, and its accessibility is outside our control.
  • Links lead to GitHub, project websites, Hacker News and dev.to, whose accessibility may differ from this site’s.
  • Live star counts, the explorer filters and favourites need JavaScript. Category pages and repository links work as plain pages.

Feedback

If something on the site is hard to use, tell us through the contact form, choosing “Report a problem”. It helps to include the page address, what you were trying to do, and the browser and assistive technology you use.
